Overview

All the bakkie. Now with electric muscle.

Some journeys are long. Loads are heavy. And charging infrastructure isn’t always where you need it. That’s why the KP31 combines diesel and electric power — delivering up to 100km of pure electric driving, with the diesel engine stepping in when it’s needed. It’s not a compromise. It’s a practical solution for the way people really drive.

KP31

Not your typical bakkie. We’ve double-checked.

The KP31 wasn’t designed to look good on a test track. It was engineered for the real world — from city streets to gravel roads and everything in between. Built to handle whatever the journey demands, without asking you to compromise.

Electric first

Up to 100km of pure electric driving for everyday journeys. When the road stretches further, the diesel engine seamlessly takes over. Smart enough to switch automatically, so you’ll barely notice.

2.5T Diesel Super Hybrid

A 2.5-litre turbo diesel paired with a battery and electric motor — the first setup of its kind in a bakkie, anywhere. 10% more efficient and 30% less vibration than a conventional diesel. Your back will notice.

Built for what lies ahead

The KP31 has been engineered with real-world driving in mind. From daily commutes to demanding terrain, it delivers the capability, comfort and confidence to handle every journey with ease.

The Powertrain

Engineered power. Not engineered compromises.

The KP31 is built around a 2.5-litre turbo diesel — the kind of engine that knows its way around a long haul. The electric motor is there to make it faster, cleaner, and quieter, not to replace it. Together they produce 350kW and 800Nm. Enough grunt to remind other bakkies who they’re dealing with.

POWER SOURCE 1 2.5T Diesel

Turbocharged. Torquey. Ready for the long haul.

POWER SOURCE 2 Electric

Up to 100km EV range. Zero emissions. Zero drama.

Towing

Tows what needs towing. Carries what needs carrying.

A 3,500kg braked towing capacity isn’t just a number—it’s a reflection of the KP31’s capability. Built to take on demanding workloads with confidence, it’s ready to perform wherever the journey leads.

The Interior Experience

Rugged luxury. Both. At once.

Suede on the dash, the door cards, and the roof lining. Leather seats front and rear. The KP31‘s cabin makes the established bakkies look like they stopped trying — because based on rear legroom and fit-out, they kind of did.

  • Heated and ventilated front seats, leather throughout
  • Flat rear floor with genuine extra legroom over key rivals
  • Wireless charging, dual-zone climate and premium sound

Built For Here

Engineered with purpose. Built to perform.

The Chery KP31 wasn’t designed to simply meet expectations—it was developed to exceed them. From its advanced driver assistance systems to its finely tuned suspension, every detail has been engineered to deliver confidence, capability and comfort. This isn’t just another bakkie. It’s a vehicle designed from the ground up to take on whatever the road—and the day—throws at it.

  • Suspension engineered for comfort, control and capability

Off-Road Capability

The off-road stuff. For when it gets serious.

The KP31 doesn’t just look the part. Below the leather and stylish design is a bakkie that means business when the bitumen runs out. Three diff locks, crawl control, and a tight-turn assist — it’s a proper off-roader wearing a very good suit.

Triple diff locks

Front, centre and rear differential locks — individually selectable. For when traction is a negotiation and you want all the leverage.

Crawl control

Set the speed, let the KP31 sort out the rest. Steep descents, slow technical terrain — keep both hands on the wheel, both eyes on the line.

Tight-turn assist

Drags the inside wheel through hairpins on loose ground. Less drama. Better lines. The kind of trick that makes tight mountain tracks a lot less white-knuckle.

≥247mm ground clearance

Minimum 247mm. That’s enough clearance to get properly into trouble — and, more importantly, back out of it.

Specced for the serious stuff.

3,500kg towing. 4WD. AT tyres as standard. The KP31‘s spec sheet reads like a checklist written by someone who’s actually been off-road.

AT tyres

All-terrain rubber as standard. Because all-season tyres are an insult to anyone who’s driven a dirt road after rain.
